Frequently asked questions
The below are our most commonly asked questions and answers about dual schooling as a model, and the Accelerator (Playbook, Pro, Academy)
What is “dual schooling” vs. dual enrollment?
Dual enrollment (or concurrent enrollment) is one tactic—taking college courses while in high school. Dual schooling is the broader strategy: deliberately combining multiple institutions and experiences (college, CTE, certificates, internships, jobs) under one plan that still satisfies graduation and pathway requirements for your program of record.
Do I still need another high school, homeschool program, or charter?
Playbook and Pro: yes—you keep (or arrange) your own school of record. Those tiers are strategy and software to help you execute dual schooling through a district, charter, private school, or homeschool program you’re already using or planning to use. We don’t enroll you as a Dual School high school student or award a diploma through those products.
Dual School Academy: no—that’s the point. Academy students enroll at Dual School as their high school. You don’t need to patch together a separate homeschool filing or stay enrolled at another high school as your “real” school while we help on the side. Your graduation path is through Dual School Academy. College courses you take still award credit from those colleges, the same way dual enrollment works for any high school student.
What’s the difference between the Playbook and Pro?
The Playbook is the written strategic manual (maps and methods), available on its own as a one-time purchase. Pro includes the full Playbook and adds subscription software to help you build an adaptable plan, track credits across institutions, and streamline administrative tasks. If you subscribe to Pro, you do not need to buy the Playbook separately.
When should we choose Academy?
Choose Academy when you want Dual School to be your school: enrollment and high school graduation here, with 1:1 mentorship, active planning, administrative support, and professional tools in one program. It is the right fit when you are done juggling another homeschool or high school enrollment just to access dual schooling—and want a full-service team, not only the Playbook or Pro.
Can we start at Academy and later move to Pro only?
Yes. Families’ needs change; we’re happy to discuss what a transition looks like after milestones (e.g., after a transfer plan is stable).
What about social life and extracurriculars?
Dual schooling often creates time for sports, work, and community when the schedule is designed intentionally— but social connection still takes planning: clubs, cohorts, local classes, athletics, faith or service groups, etc. Academy conversations include how to structure time without isolating students.
How do you think about AI and academic integrity?
We treat AI as a tool students must learn to use ethically: for scaffolded practice, feedback, and productivity—not for misrepresenting mastery. Specific tool access may vary by tier and partner agreements.
What if my student isn’t college-bound?
Dual schooling still applies: CTE pathways, certificates, and work-based learning can be central. The map changes; the need for coordination does not. We align support to the student’s stated goals.
Billing: Playbook vs. Pro vs. Academy
Playbook: one-time purchase if you only want the manual (see Playbook). Pro: subscription—annual or monthly pricing on the Pro page—includes the full Playbook (you keep your own school of record). Academy: annual tuition for enrollment at Dual School as your high school program—you are not expected to buy Playbook or Pro separately—scope and payment schedule are confirmed after fit conversations.
